In-Person Injury Services
Assessment: Acute injury, chronic/recurrent injury, any aches/pains or soreness, we first need to understand you, your goals and your starting place. During our assessment we will spend an hour together discussing a brief history of the injury, static and dynamic observations of how you move, injury specific movements and any other evaluative techniques deemed appropriate. Come prepared to do some light, safe movement; gym clothing is most appropriate. Determining why an injury/soreness/pain is occurring is necessary to understand how best to treat it. The remainder of the hour will be used to introduce the individualized treatment plan. This could include, but is not limited to:
- soft tissue manual therapy
- fascial release
- trigger point treatment
- myofascial cupping
- acupuncture or dry needling
- gua sha
- targeted movement: stretching, strengthening, postural awareness, mobility
Treatment: Choose this option once you have had an assessment. We have now determined what the injury is and why it is occurring; we are on the road to recovery. Come prepared for safe movement, therefore gym clothing and gym shoes are most appropriate. We will spend an hour working within your injuries stage of healing and stage of rehabilitation. This could include but is not limited to:
- soft tissue manual therapy
- fascial release
- trigger point treatment
- myofascial cupping
- acupuncture or dry needling
- early stage movement rehab: awareness and movement retraining, endurance strength, neuromuscular coordination and control
- mid-stage movement rehab: strengthening through range, balance and stability, mobility and fascial glides
- sport/movement specific rehab: specialized strength, power, speed; movement coordination, agility, plyometrics, cardio training and further injury healing
As always, you will be provided with as much information about your injury as possible, with accompanied options for self care. Homework emails containing video recordings of suggested movements will be provided for your future reference.

Injury Prevention
Walking/Running Analysis
Have you ever been curious to learn how you walk or run, if your recurring injuries are a result of imbalanced walking or running mechanics, or if you’ve been suffering soreness of your feet, knees, hips, low back, shoulders or neck/head without resolve using traditional methods?
Our feet are what connects us to the ground and have an important connection to how we hold the rest of our body. During our 60-75 minute session we will discuss your history and current concerns, followed by biomechanical observations during specific movements designed to highlight how you move your body. Sometimes injuries from our past have a funny way of showing themselves, we will explore joint specific evaluation if deemed appropriate. Slow motion video analysis of your walk/run with and without your current footwear will be our final piece to put your story all together.
As always, you will be provided with education about how you strategically move your body and why you may be suffering acute or recurring aches/pains. Recommendations will be made in terms of footwear or exercises and any homework will be accompanied by demonstration videos for future reference. Please bring gym clothing, your favourite pair of casual shoes, any orthotics you may be using and a pair of moderately used gym shoes or running shoes.
Posture Analysis
Choose this option if you’ve ever been curious to learn how you hold yourself seated, standing and walking. Recurring aches/pains, headaches, sore neck, painful shoulders, lower back pain and hip tension can be some of the ways poor posture can manifest within your body. During our 45 minute session we will discuss your brief history and concerns, followed by static postural observation, dynamic observation of a few specific movements, joint specific evaluation if deemed appropriate, and video analysis of your current postures vs. analysis of your ideal postures. As always, you will be provided with as much education as possible on how to strategically hold yourself in more ideal postures. Recommendations will be made for postural cues you can use on your own, exercises and/or ergonomic aids if necessary. Please bring gym clothing, a pair of shoes you’d wear daily as well as gym shoes.
Functional Movement Screen
Choose this option if one of the following applies: you’re beginning your active lifestyle journey and want to understand how your body currently creates movement to prevent injuries and determine which exercises are most appropriate for you; you’re currently on your active lifestyle journey but have plateaued or you’re suffering constant tensions, imbalances, or asymmetries that you don’t know how to correct; or, you’re currently active and have suffered recurring injuries without relief or you have recovered from an injury but can identify you don’t move as well as you would want to. In our first session, we spend 45 minutes using photographic and video analysis of many different movements as determined by your concerns and history. Our second session is dedicated to breaking down my findings and discussing recommendations for improvement. As always, you will be provided with as much education as possible so you understand why you move the way you move and what needs to be done to reduce asymmetries, reduce aches/pains and excel at your desired activity. Please bring gym clothing and gym shoes to both of the sessions. Only book one session, we will book the second session at the conclusion of the first session.
Follow Up Session
Choose this option if you have already done an analysis or screen with me and want to take it to the next step. Our outcome from the evaluative session will determine what is necessary in our follow up sessions; this could include body part/joint specific treatments, reevaluation of gait, posture, or movement, progression of exercises or correction/confirmation of current exercise recommendations. Please bring gym clothing and gym shoes to this session.
